Enter the shop and check in, and we will outfit you with a properly sized, sanitized paddle and PFD. A level-appropriate board with leash will be waiting for you down at our dock.

If you’d like a wetsuit, let us know and we’ll charge just $5 for a rental. 

Wetsuits are not provided with a rental and cost just $5 extra to rent.

• Wear your swimsuit (for under the rental wetsuit, or under your clothing if you opt out of wearing a wetsuit)
• For clothing, we recommend a NON-COTTON exercise shirt/rash guard, exercise pants/board shorts/yoga pants, or dry-fit like clothing
• Sunglasses (Chums/Croakies/leashes are highly recommended and available for purchase in the shop)
• Towel
• Sunscreen
• Hat
• Water

Unfortunately not, as we require all children under 18 to be accompanied by an adult.

Our shop hours are from 9am to 4pm. Last rental goes out 1-hour before closing at 3pm. Rental reservations are HIGHLY recommended on weekends to avoid up to a 45 minute wait.

Note: we may stop rentals and close the shop early due to winds picking up in the afternoon.

• Decide if you want to rent a SUP or kayak
• Make an online rental reservation
• Complete the online safety waiver form prior to your arrival at the shop
• On the day of rental, enter the shop and check in - if required, perform a skills assessment
• Enjoy paddling! 😃

Paddling the Bay is very different from lakes and most tourist locations! We'll want you to be able to perform these skills before you go out for a rental.

A competent paddler can:

• Paddle 50 yards in a straight line and paddle on both sides
• Stop with less than four strokes after paddling 50 yards
• Turn the board 180 degrees with two sweep strokes or less

We offer 2 different board types for a rental:

• Basic Boards: Glides, SIC Tao Surfs or Tao Fits - all super stable for newer paddlers and ideal for SUP Yoga
• Touring Boards: SIC Sonic’s 12’6" x 30" is one of the most versatile touring boards on the market, offering stability with more speed and control than an all-around board

Yes, you will need to complete a waiver and pay a launch fee. Purchase a launch pass for unlimited launch visits each month. Learn more about board/kayak launch here.
