Announcing Sea Trek Alameda

Located on an island in San Francisco Bay’s East Bay, Alameda offers a calm, peaceful place to paddle while also taking in sweeping views of the downtown San Francisco Skyline, the Bay Bridge, Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands. Air and water temperatures in this part of the Bay also tend to be 5 to 10 degrees warmer than other parts of the Bay, making this an ideal place for beginners. Paddlers can easily access Alameda’s Crown Beach with its 2.5 miles of calm sandy beach.

Our mission is centered around getting people on the water while fostering connections with oneself, nature, and fellow adventurers. Introducing Sea Trek to Alameda will be instrumental in furthering our goal of expanding kayak and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) accessibility for East Bay and beyond, ultimately strengthening these meaningful connections.

What types of programs will be offered at your new Alameda location?

We plan on offering nearly identical programming in Alameda as we do in Sausalito. This will include:

  • Rentals, including the Frequent Paddler Passes

  • Classes for kayak, SUP and surfski
  • Memberships, both monthly and annual
  • School & Youth Programs
  • Corporate Team-Building and Offsite Programs

What kind of kayaks and SUPs are at your new location?

We’re investing in a large livery of both sit-on-top kayaks, traditional kayaks (including the fan-favorite P&H Virgos) and stand-up paddleboards. We’ll also have a selection of surfskis of different lengths and dimensions.

Where exactly is your new location?

The new location will be within This marina is on the western side of the island and offers a calm, protected, place to paddle even on windy afternoons. 1120 Ballena Blvd #200, Alameda, CA 94501

What’s the best way to get there?

For locals, our location is pretty easy to access by car, bus or bike. If you’re coming from Oakland or points north in the East Bay, take the tunnel or bridge onto Alameda. For folks coming from San Francisco and North Bay, you can drive across the bridge(s) or take the ferry and then walk, bike or take local transportation to our site.

Can Sea Trek members and paddlers who have a Book of Time or Frequent Paddler Pass use both locations?

Absolutely, and this is one of the key benefits that we’re excited to extend to our paddling community.

Will you offer corporate offsite and school youth programming at the new location?

Yes! We’ve already started taking reservations for spring 2024 school and corporate offsite programs. You can contact us here if you’d like to begin making those arrangements or if you have any questions.
